Singer Etta James battling Alzheimer’s disease

Singer Etta James was admitted to the  hospital last week after having a urinary tract infection which ultimately  turned into sepsis.

Now Etta James’ son, Donto James, has revealed that the legendary singer has been secretly battling Alzheimer’s Disease for over a year. The 72-year-old R&B star made headlines when she slammed Beyonce for singing her signature song, “At Last.”

Donto James also revealed that his mother had been treated for dependency on painkillers and over-the-counter medication earlier this year.

According to James’ son, the singer is suffering from from speech difficulties and has contracted the  MRSA virus since first being treated.
Here’s what Donto James had to say:

“I am going to end up losing my mother if it keeps going on like this. There has to be another doctor out there who can tell me what is going on with my mother.”

“I want my mother back onstage again. I know it can happen.”
