Mariska Hargitay Comments On Chris Meloni’s Departure From SVU

Earlier this week, news hit the web that Chris Meloni would be saying goodbye to his role as Detective Stabler on the NBC series SVU. This would have been Meloni’s 13 season on the drama. Now, Meloni’s partner on the show Mariska Hargitay is commenting on her co-star’s departure.
Hargitay released the following statement:
“For the past 12 years Chris Meloni has been my partner and friend, both on screen and off. He inspired me every day with his integrity, his extraordinary talent and commitment to the truth.”
“I love him deeply and will miss him terribly-I’m so excited to see what he’ll do next.”
Apparently, the reason behind Meloni leaving is due to contract negotiations with the network falling through.
Meloni and Hargitay are SVU. The show won’t be balanced without him. NBC needs to get him back ASAP.
