Carly Rae Jepsen Covers Billboard Magazine
To coincide with her No. 1 Top 100 single “Call Me Maybe,” singer Carly Rae Jepsen covers the new issue of Billboard magazine.
Jepsen, 16, has been heating up the charts with her new single and now she dishing on her experiences in the industry.
In the June/July issue of the magazine, Jepsen reveals how she’s dealing with fame, what she likes about being in the industry and much more. Check out some highlights form her feature below.
On her new found fame and success:
“Pretty much every day, there’s a moment where I’m having to pinch myself and think, ‘When did this happen to my life?’”
On being an artist in the industry:
“What I really love about [it] is that, despite all this craziness the creative process remains the same. And that same exciting feeling that I had before anybody knew me, when I was just beginning to work on ‘Call Me Maybe,’ is the same feeling I had today with RedFoo from LMFAO. You can sense the people who really have it are about writing that right word or that right melody to make it lift and make you feel that perfect emotion.”
On being positive:
“it’s the same mentality I had on ‘Canadian Idol’. I placed third on that show, and everyone was like, ‘are you upset that you didn’t win?’ I was like, ‘No, I’m so stoked that I came in third!’ It’s farther than I thought I would go.
