It seems like only yesterday that Tom Cruise was jumping on Oprah’s couch proclaiming his for Katie Holmes, now the pair are divorcing.

According to PEOPLE, Holmes is asking for privacy at this time. It’s not certain why the pair are divorcing.

A rep for Cruise released the following statement: “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy.”

“This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” says Holmes’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

Cruise, 49, and Holmes, 33, were married in an Italian castle in November 2006.
