American Idol alums Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson will star in the upcoming film, The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete.

The film (currently in production in Brooklyn, NY) is being directed by George Tillman Jr. The film also stars Anthony Mackie and Jeffrey Wright.

According to Deadline.com, the film follows two inner-city youths left to fend for themselves over the summer after their mothers are taken away by the authorities.

The film has no official release dates as of yet.
