Singer JoJo Moving in New Direction for Third Album
It’s been six long years since JoJo has released an album. The “Little Too Late” singer has released some tracks over the last few years via her mixtape, Can’t Take That Away From Me. But fans have been eagerly awaiting a full studio album.
JoJo’s third studio album was scrapped after the songstress didn’t like the direction it was headed. The album was originally titled All I Want is Everything (2007 – 2010) and then it was changed once again to Jumping Trains (2011 – 2012). Both titles have bit the dust, and JoJo is back in the studio recording new music for her third studio album.
In a recent interview with Billboard, JoJo told the magazine just why she decided to scrap the album. “It didn’t feel right anymore,” she says. “I’ve been working on it for a long time. I’m 21 now and it didn’t feel like me.”
At the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, JoJo revealed to Billboard that her new song”Demonstrate” is the first track from her new album. “We came up with something I’m really proud of and it felt like the right thing,” she says. “I just released a new single called ‘Demonstrate’ which is the first release off the new project. I’m shooting the video for it the first week of August so I’m just getting mentally and physically prepared for that and really conceptualizing and being in the studio and creating.”
So what can fans expect from JoJo’s third studio album?
It’s “something that is musical but still on the cutting edge yet still has an element of nostalgia. It makes me feel the way that hip-hop and R&B in the 90′s kind of makes me feel.” She’s striving for it to be “crazy, sexy, and cool” while representing a different type of young woman.
JoJo’s third studio album, currently has no official release date.
