Lady Gaga Snags Role in ‘Machete Kills’

Lady Gaga has been bitten by the acting bug.

Gaga has signed on to play  La Chameleón in the film Machete Kills. The film is being directed by Robert Rodriguez and is set to hit theaters some time next year.

Rodriguez took to Twitter to express how impressed he was with Gaga.

He tweeted: “I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills,” Rodriguez tweeted, “she kicked SO MUCH A**! Holy Smokes. Blown away!”

The movie is about the  U.S. government recruiting “Machete” to venture to Mexico to battle an army dealer who is trying to launch a special weapon into space.

Jessica Alba, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Danny Trejo, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Michelle Rodriguez and Vanessa Hudgens also star in the film.
