Carrie 2013: Chloë Grace Moretz as ‘Carrie White’ & Julianne Moore as ‘Margaret White’
Entertainment Weekly exclusively obtained photos of Chloë Grace Moretz as ‘Carrie White’ in the new movie, Carrie. The original flick starred Sissy Spacek as White and the film was directed by Brian De Palmas.
The 2013 version of the film is being directed by Kimberly Peirce, who also spearheaded the film Boys Don’t Cry. The film has some additional star power under its belt, by enlisting Julianne Moore to play the role of Carrie’s mother, Margaret.
Julianne Moore had this to say about her psychotic character ‘Margaret White’:
“This woman has clearly had a psychotic break, perhaps several,” says Moore. “But what’s sad about it for me is that she’s clearly sick and here’s this poor child in the thrall of this person who is seriously ill. And on top of that, they have this mother-daughter relationship. So we want to make that relationship as meaningful as possible, even though it is horrible and destructive.”
This reboot of Carrie hits theaters on March 13, 2013. Check out the photo of Moore and Margaret below.
