“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” Movie Begins Production!
If you’re loved the first Hunger Games movie and you’re a fan of the trilogy, then you will be excited to hear that production on the second movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, has finally begun!
The initial production of the film begins in Atlanta Georgia, but the rest of the movie will be filmed in designated beaches and jungle-like areas Hawaii.
“The stakes are raised in every way in this second story, and we are thrilled to get the production underway in these perfect locations, with our excellent returning cast and some world class actors in new roles,” says Lionsgate president of productions, Eric Feig.
This installment of the movie will star: Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, and Stanley Tucci.
like the novel, Catching Fire follows Katniss as she returns home after winning the Hunger Games along with Peeta. The pair leave again to do their rounds at the ‘Victor’s Tour,’ which brings all of the winners from the games, from all the districts, together. Things take a turn when Katniss, Peeta and the other winners are thrust back into The Hunger Games, amidst a brewing rebellion.
Production of the film will wrap sometime in December 2012.
