Skating Champ Michelle Kwan is Engaged!

Medalist Michelle Kwan has a new sparkly item to add to her collection… an engagement ring!

Kwan, 32, got engaged to longtime boyfriend, Clay Pell, director for strategic planning on the National Security staff at the White House, on September 4.

The figure skater had this to say about saying ‘yes’ to the proposal, “It was a simple decision and it made sense, that’s what’s so exciting to me. “We are working together as a team, like in [pair skating].”

Pell chimed in and added, “It was amazing from the very beginning how in sync our way of thinking is, our basic values and our sense of priorities. We just both got each other.”

The couple first met back in April 2011.

Congrats to the happy couple!
