Regis Philbin is heading back to television.
The TV vet will be co-hosting The Rachel Ray Show, once a month, beginning Monday, September 24.
Even though reports claimed that Philbin was retiring when he left Live! with Regis &Kelly, he insists that was not the case.
Philbin explained, “I tried to make a distinct point that I wasn’t retiring, that I was moving on. Everybody said ‘retired!’ I feel terrific! I’ve enjoyed my time.”
“I’m not working that much, but I’m out there,” he noted, adding that Rachel Ray’s offer to guest host once a month was a welcome call. “I’m not gonna say I don’t want to do your show! I think it’s fun. I spent my whole life doing this.”
No word on if his co-hosting duties will be extended, but for the time being fans will be able to see him at least once a month.
