Legendary Musical Acts – The End Of An Era

Legendary Musical Acts – The End Of An Era

There are plenty of music artists who are releasing new material every year, touring and appearing on shows. Now however, even some famous actors, like Will Smith and Kylie, turned to the music industry. At the same time, we are also waving goodbye to some artists while they take a break from the celebrity lifestyle and trying a different industry. We see many actors turn to music and vice-versa, like Take That and Bon Jovi did.

To many young girls, (and their mother’s) disappointment, Take That broke up in 1996. For many years, the Northern boy band stayed dormant, with only Robbie Williams making a name for himself. Now however, they are bigger and better than ever, spanning almost three generations of fans. You could say they went away a boy band and returned a man band. The women of the world screamed in excitement, while the men of the world screamed in disbelief.

Their light hearted pop music makes good background music if you are around the house, making dinner or browsing the web, playing Party Poker. A few upbeat catchy songs are fun to dance to, but they haven’t yet progressed into any other music style or theme They seem to stick with what they know best – cheesy pop. Gary Barlow is now an X Factor judge, maybe in an attempt to broaden his career. Jason Orange started to study A Levels after the band broke up while the others released solo albums.

Another musician turned actor is, rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, who tried dipping his toes into the acting industry during his break from music. He had small roles in Ally McBeal, Sex in the City and Young Guns. Meanwhile, the rest of the band released solo material.

The international rock band has had success for almost 30 years and are now taking the opportunity to take a well deserved break. The aging rockers are fast approaching their 50s and after more than 12 albums and uncountable chart hits, they are taking 2 years off. This year, they are coming to the end of their world tour The Circle, before their vacation. Who knows, we might see some more acting from Jon Bon Jovi in the near future.
