Jesse L. Martin‘s resemblance to Marvin Gaye is uncanny.
The actor is currently filming the biopic, titled Sexual Healing, about the late singer’s life back in the 1980s while he was working on his Midnight Love album. The photo above looks like a recreation of Gaye’s 1971 studio album cover, What’s Going On.
Even though Martin signed on to play Gaye just a few months ago, about 70% of the movie is reportedly done. The film is currently taking a two-week hiatus due to an unavailability of certain locations where scenes need to be shot, according to ScreenDaily.
Focus Features will present a “great promo reel” of Julien Temple‘s Sexual Healing at Cannes next week.
S. Epatha Merkerson, will play Marvin’s Gaye’s mother, Alberta Cooper Gay. And Dwight Henry (Beasts of the Southern Wild) will be Marvin Gaye’s father, Marvin Gay, Sr.
