Kelly Ripa Unveils Wax Statue In NYC
Talk Show Host Kelly Ripa was on-hand at the unveiling of her wax statue at Madame Tussauds in New York City. Ripa and her wax figure both donned red dresses and sat next to Regis Philbin‘s wax figure. Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos, as also there to support the blonde beauty. Mark seemed to be having a little too much fun with the two “Kellys.” It’s not the best wax figure of Kelly, but it’s better to have one than none at all.

Carrie Ann Inaba Gets Engaged on ‘Regis & Kelly’
Dancing with the Stars host Carrie Ann Inaba got the shock of her life when she filled in for Kelly Ripa on Live! With Regis & Kelly yesterday. Carrie and Regis sat reading letters from fans who needed help and advice, unbeknownst to Carrie, one of the “letters” was from her own boyfriend. As Regia read the letter, Carrie Ann’s boyfriend made his onto the set and proposed. A teary-eyed Carrie Ann accepted his proposal and the two sealed the deal with a kiss. Some say it was a little corny, but I say it was cute. Check out the footage below.

Did Regis Philbin really retire or did he quit?
A few days ago we told you that Regis Philbin was retiring from Live With Regis and Kelly. Now TMZ is reporting that Philbin didn’t really retire, instead he quit after salary negotiations fell through.
According to TMZ, a source close to the show said that Philbin’s agent, Jim Griffin, tried to get the talk show host a new contract when his current deal expired. ABC and the other powers that be, made it clear that Regis would be getting a pay cut due to the show’s dwindling viewership and the host’s plethora of off-days .
Here’s how TMZ is eporting the rest of the story:
Regis, we’re told, was angry at the offer and that was the trigger for his announcement this week that he’s leaving the show.
TMZ first reported … Regis told Kelly Ripa about his decision 15 minutes before they went on the air. Initially we were told she was stunned but not angry. Now we’ve learned she was furious — partly because, as one source says, “She felt it showed a total lack of respect for her.”
We’re told the entire production team is angry at Regis because they feel he hurt the show by blindsiding everyone.
As for Regis’ agent, Jim Griffin, Reeg fired him. We’re told Regis feels Griffin did not negotiate the upcoming deal effectively.

Regis Philbin Retiring From ‘Live’ After Nearly 25 Years
Talk Show host veteran Regis Philbin announced on his show yesterday that he will be retiring from the weekday talk show Live With Regis and Kelly after nearly 25 years.
“This will be my last year on this show,” he said. “It was the biggest thrill of my life. There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera, especially certain old people.”
Philbin didn’t give a specific day as to when he’d be leaving the show, but he did say that it would be sometime in the summer or early fall. Although Philbin will be leaving the show, Disney-ABC Television Group plans to find a new personality to join Kelly Ripa on the daytime talk show.
