Lil Wayne And Drake To Drop Joint Album

Cash Money CEO Birdman aka Bryan Williams confirmed on Friday that Lil’ Wayne and Drake will be doing a joint album. This announcement comes hot on the heels of the release of Kanye West and Jay-Z‘s album, Watch The Throne.

“Wayne and I recently talked about [the Weezy/Drake collabo album],” Baby told XXL Magazine. “That’s definitely going to get done.”

Of course many people think that Birdman is trying to copy ‘Ye and Jigga’s idea, but the Drake and Wayne collaboration will have a younger feel.

“It’s older versus younger,” he said. “I listened to a few songs [off Watch the Throne], and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young, they young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So it’s two different types of music all the way across the board.”

Even though the above statement seems a little harsh, Birdman did give ‘Ye and Jigga credit for putting together such a groundbreaking project.
“But what they’re doing is great. I think it’s great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole,” he continued. “I just think when Wayne and Drake get together, [it’s] going to be something real special also because we more youthful.”

The CEO didn’t give an actual release date for the collaboration project.  Wayne’s Tha Carter IV drops on August 29 and Drake’s sophomore work, Take Care, drops on October 24.
