Beyonce Drops Out of Clint Eastwood’s “Star is Born”
Clint Eastwood‘s forthcoming biopic, Star is Born was supposed to be Beyonce‘s breakout role. Unfortunately, the “Halo” singer has pulled out of the project.
Beyonce was slated to play the same role that Barbara Streisand made famous in the 1976 version, but due to a heavy schedule Bey pulled out of the project.
The film was slated to begin production over a year ago, but was halted due to Beyonce’s pregnancy. Jon Peters, Bill Gerber and Basil Iwanyk are producing the remake, and Will Fetters is writing the movie’s script
Warner Bros. had no comment on the matter, but sources close to the singer say her schedule became too complex.
Now that Bey is off the project, there are whispers that Eastwood is eyeing jazz musician Esperanza Spaulding for the role.
The male lead for the movie has yet to be cast and until there is, it is doubtful a female lead will be chosen.
