President Barack Obama named TIME Magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’

President Barack Obama has had a very exciting year and it just got better.

TIME magazine has named the president, their ‘Person of the Year’ for 2012.

This is the second time Obama has been named ‘Person of the Year’ by the magazine, the first time he was given the title was back in 2008.

The Commander-In-Chief was given the title for various reasons, but TIME declares there was one particular aspect of the president’s characteristics that made him a shoe-in.

TIME writes:

“There are many reasons for this, but the biggest by far are the nation’s changing demographics and Obama’s unique ability to capitalize on them.”

“He is the first president to embrace gay marriage and to offer work permits to many young undocumented immigrants,” it continued.

“For finding and forging a new majority, for turning weakness into opportunity and for seeking, amid great diversity, to create a more perfect union, Barack Obama is Time’s 2012 Person of the Year.”
