Henry Cavill is the new Man of Steel.
The actor is featured in the June/July issue of DETAILS magazine.
Cavill chats it up with the magazine about the forthcoming Man of Steel. During his interview, Cavill reveals that he was up for the Superman role prior to clenching it this time.

On getting the superhero role the second time around:
“I was actually up for Superman before. I was really close to getting the job, and then the director changed and I was no long part of the plan.”
On how he reacted when he realized he got the part:
“When I found out I got the part, I was home playing ‘World of Warcraft.’ I had to play it cool. but the second we hung up, I just sprinted up and down my stairs cheering and whooping like a madman. I kept looking in the mirror, going, ‘I don’t believe it. I’m Superman? I’m Superman!'”
On wanting to getting the Superman character right:
“This character matters so much to so many people. I want to get that right. I want to do it justice. I want people to believe in the character and have faith in the character and kids to grow up wanting to be Superman.”
