Sneak Peek: MAC’s Antonio Lopez-Inspired Fall Collection
MAC has a brand new artsy collection on the way.
MAC Cosmetics’ forthcoming makeup collection, pays homage to fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez. Lopez would constantly create illustrations of Supermodels Marisa Berenson, Jerry Hall, and Pat Cleveland (also known as “Antonio’s Girls”) in Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue during the 1970s.
MAC selected six of his drawings to feature on the packaging on lip, eye, face palettes, makeup bags and accessories.
“Our collection with Antonio Lopez is symbolic of a time when indulgence was at its peak,” explains James Gager, creative director of MAC Cosmetics. “There was a magic to his world and a time in history that hasn’t been recaptured; I think people are lusting after that glamour, which is difficult to come by today.” The collection hits MAC stores in September.
The collection consists of MAC Antonio Lopez Lips ($27.50), MAC Antonio Lopez Eyes, ($43.50) and MAC Antonio Lopez Face ($46) products. Additionally, the collection offers a pouch, large tote bag and a two-way pocket mirror with the same Lopez images on them.
