‘Toy Story 4’ to Have Different Story Line
The internet went wild when Pixar announced plans to release a for Toy Story 4 last year. Most fans thought the last installment was a fitting end to the franchise, but Pixar has other plans for the Toy Story legacy.
During a recent interview, Pixar President Jim Morris shared that the studios’ next Toy Story would only have tertiary ties to the original starring Buzz Lightyear and Woody.
According to Morris, Pixar’s current plan for Toy Story 4 is to make a romantic comedy that’s light on the human-to-toy interactions, as well as any direct links to the previous Toy Stories.
“It is not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3,” Morris told Disney Latino. “The third movie was over in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy.”
Morris also shared that the fourth flick would not evoke a new franchise. He hopes to keep it as a singular storyline for the time being.
Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 16, 2017.
