Homer and Marge to Separate on The Simpsons
The Simpsons executive producer Al Jean told Variety, that Homer and Marge will separate in the upcoming season. He revealed that Homer has narcolepsy, which puts a strain on their marriage. The pair decide to legally separate, and “Homer falls in love with his pharmacist,” he said, who’ll be voiced by Girls star and creator Lena Dunham.
“We’ll have cameos from the other women from ‘Girls,'” he added.
However, this isn’t the first time the pair split. In Season 8, Homer secretly filed for divorce, citing that Marge could find someone better.
The pair remarried later in that episode but in Season 20 they learned that Rev. Lovejoy didn’t have a valid license to perform weddings at the time. They did end up getting legally married.
The split will not be forever, so no worries there.
The Simpsons returns for its 27th season on Sept. 27 on FOX.
