Disney Introduces First Polynesian Princess


Disney has unveiled its first-ever, Polynesian Princess. Her name is Moana and she’s sure to make an impact in a big way.

Disney introduced Moana, at its recent D23 Expo on Aug. 14. The pretty princess, who will be CGI-animated, is said to be introduced as a “natural-born navigator.” She ventures out on a boat on a mission to find a mythical island in the region of Oceania.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, helped unveil the new movie/princess. He will voice the character of a demigod, Maui. Other characters in the movie include Tui, Moana’s father;  her sidekicks Pua the pig and Hei Hei the rainbow-colored rooster.

Moana’s character will be similar Brave’s Merida and Frozen‘s Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.

Moana will hit theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
