Lena Dunham Says ‘GIRLS’ Will Likely End After Season 6
Fans of the HBO show, GIRLS may not be too happy with Lena Dunham latest news.
Dunham called in to the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on Tuesday, where she hinted that the timing feels right for season 6 to be the end of the popular show.
“Never say never, but that is the way that we’re thinking about it right now and we’re starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the storylines of these particular young women,” Dunham said. “I started working on this show when I was 23, and now I’m going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world!”
Earlier this year, Dunham told Variety that she had spoken with HBO about doing six seasons, but it wasn’t set in stone.
“I think America has a tendency to push shows past their due dates,” Dunham says. “I like the British model — in and out.”
