Will Smith To Be Given Generation Award for 2016 MTV Movie Awards


MTV is recognizing Will Smith for his talent.

The Concussion star is set to receive the MTV Movie Awards’ Generation Award in April.

Smith, who began his acting career on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has a series of blockbuster films under his belt. His summer movies were so successful, that he was deemed as Mr. Fourth of July.

Smith has stared in films such as;  Bad Boys, Independence Day, Ali and The Pursuit of Happyness.

Network executive producer Casey Patterson sang Smith’s praises to the press. Patterson told E! News, “Will Smith and MTV have grown up together and share a very cool history. MTV was a part of every phase of Will’s career and he has been a huge part of what defined the MTV culture from the beginning. From TV’s The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, to his music and amazing movies, Will is the voice of a generation and not afraid to use it. The 25th anniversary of the Movie Awards is the perfect year to honor #BIGWILLIE as only MTV can—with lots of big surprises in store.”
