‘Hamilton’ Makes History with 16 Tony Nods

Hamilton continues its reign of excellence by nabbing 16 Tony Award nominations, a record for any Broadway show. The Broadway show, which is sold-out, is a hip-hop musical about America’s first Treasury secretary. It is currently the front-runner to win the 2016 Tony Award for ‘Best Musical.’ With several of the show’s stars being nominated, Hamilton is sure to take home several awards.

Laurie Metcalf, Jeff Bridges, Lupita Nyong’o, Jessica Lange, andFrank Langella are among the year’s nominees for Tony’s. The 70th Annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS June 12 at 8 p.m. ET. James Corden will serve as this year’s host.
