Snapchat to Showcase 2016 Summer Olympics
Snapchat has inked a major deal with NBCUniversal to showcase the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Under this unique deal, Snapchat will create a dedicated channel within the app that will display content from the Olympics.
Onlookers will get daily “live stories” from the network, and athletes.
Unfortunately, the deal only includes the U.S., where NBC’s parent company, Comcast, holds broadcast rights for the Olympics. Bizzfeed will also showcase content from the Olympics on a Snapchat-focused channel.
This deal also marks the first time that NBC will allow Olympics content to appear on platforms other than its own.
