Richard Hatch, the star of Battlestar Galactica, has died after battling pancreatic cancer, according to TMZ. He was 71.

Hatch was most known for his starring role as Captain Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica (1978-79) series. He went on to play Tom Zarek in the 2004 reboot.

Hatch’s rep revealed to the Associated Press that the actor died Tuesday afternoon, with his son Paul Michael Hatch by his side, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
