Comedian Charlie Murphy Dies at 57
The world just got a little less funny, as comedian Charlie Murphy has died after a long battle with leukemia. He was 57.
Murphy, who is the older brother of Eddie Murphy, was best known for his run on Comedy Central’s “Chapelle Show,” where he would re-enact his encounters with Prince and Rick James.
According to Charlie’s manager, he died Wednesday morning in a NY hospital. The comedian been going undergoing chemotherapy.
Charlie’s wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, died in 2009 from cervical cancer. Charlie is survived by his three children and two brothers.
