Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus has announced that she has breast cancer.
The 56-year-old actress announced the news via Twitter. In her post, shown below, she mentioned the statistics of 1 in 8 women getting breast cancer and how she was now a one. According to various reports, Louis-Dreyfus found out about her diagnosis the day after the Primetime Emmy Awards.
The comedian’s health did not play a role in the decision to end “Veep” with Season 7. HBO did reveal that the show’s production schedule will be adjusted if necessary to accommodate the actress.
“Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time,” HBO said in a statement. “We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of ‘Veep.'” (HBO and CNN share parent company Time Warner.)
