Aretha Franklin Picks Jennifer Hudson for her “Queen of Soul” Biopic

Jennifer Hudson has been tapped to play the legendary Aretha Franklin in her upcoming Biopic, “Queen of Soul.”

The announcement was made during Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Party by the man himself. Hudson was reportedly handpicked by Franklin.

During the party, Hudson sang classics like “Think,” and “Respect.”

The film will be produced by Straight Outta Compton‘s Scott Bernstein and music producer Harvey Mason Jr., who also produced music for the movie Dreamgirls.

No information on a film debut date or other cast members has been released at this time.
