NBA Star Rasual Butler and American Idol Alum Leah LaBelle Killed in Car Crash
Former NBA player Rasual Butler and his wife, Leah LaBelle, were killed in a car crash early Wednesday morning in California.
Around 2 a.m this morning, Butler reportedly lost control of his vehicle. The car, a Range Rover, struck a parking meter and flipped before slamming into a wall. Police believe Butler’s car was speeding before the collision; it was allegedly traveling at speeds higher than the limit.
In 2002, Butler, 38, by the Miami Heat in the second round. He went on to play for the Hornets, Clippers, Bulls, Raptors, Pacers, Wizards and Spurs from 2002 to 2016.
LaBelle, 31, competed on the third season of “American Idol,” where she placed 12th.
