Sesame Place is the First Theme Park in the World to become a Certified Autism Center
Sesame Place is kicking starting Autism Awareness month (April) in a big way. The Pennsylvania amusement park is now the first in the world to become a designated autism center.
The Langhorne theme park teamed up with The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards to obtain the certification
With the park’s new season approaching at the end of April, staff members have already completed training in emotional awareness, motor skills, sensitivity and more, according to NBC 10.
“It’s our goal to provide every family with an enjoyable and memorable visit, and we are proud to offer specialized services to guests with autism and other special needs,” officials wrote in a Facebook post to announce the certification.
The park also offers low sensory areas for all and, noise-cancelling headphones as well.
