Wakanda Princess Shuri Is Getting Her Own Comic Book Series
Move over T’Challa because the Princess of Wakanda is getting her own comic book series.
The comic book will make its debut in October and will be written by author Nnedi Okorafor.
The series will follow Shuri, the Princess of Wakanda, as she takes the over after her brother, T’Challa, disappears into space.
Shuri was created by writer Reginald Hudlin and artist John Romita, Jr. She first appeared in Black Panther comic book vol. 4 #2.
“While she [Shuri] is the most at home in her lab, working to keep her country at the forefront of science and technology, Wakanda is missing its leader,” Marvel wrote in a press statement about the new series.
“Without T’Challa around, Shuri will have to decide if she will forego her own passions in order to stand up for her nation.”
With the wide-spread success of “Black Panther” one can only help but wonder if this comic book series will lead to a movie spin-off as well.
