‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Gets Reboot with African American Lead
Get ready for vampires, stakes and fighting, as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” will be getting the reboot treatment!
The popular WB series will be back on television, but this time an African-American actress will be in the lead role, a Fox 21 Television Studios spokesperson confirmed to CNN.
“Like our world, it will be richly diverse, and like the original, some aspects of the series could be seen as metaphors for issues facing us all today,” producers on the project told Deadline, which first reported news of the “Buffy” reboot.
The original show was based on the 1992 film by the same name. The series, which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, ran from 1996 to 2003.
No official casting news has been released yet.
