Alicia Keys To Host the 2019 Grammy Awards
Alicia Keys has been tapped to host the 61st Annual Grammy Awards,
Keys shared the news with an Instagram Story video that contained a behind-the-scenes look into how this opportunity came to pass. The video, which is now gone, opened with when Keys received the phone call offering her the gig. The video also shows Keys sharing the news with husband, Swizz Beats, and her two kids.
The video wraps up with Keys detailing her excitement about accepting the position. “I know what it feels like to be on that stage, and I know what it feels like to be proud of the work that you’ve put in, and to be recognized for it,” Keys said. “I just feel grateful that I’m able to bring that light and that energy. This is a first – it’s a first, and it’s amazing, and I think it’s perfect timing. Honestly, I’m really excited, I feel really good about it, because I feel like it’s the perfect opportunity for me to give the light back, lift people up, especially all the young women that are nominated.”
Keys isn’t nominated for any Grammys this year, but she’s no novice to winning. To-date, she has won 15 Grammys. She won her last Grammy for Best R&B Album for Girl On Fire, in 2014

Jay-Z and Beyonce are On The Run and starting their tour, with the same moniker, off with a bang!
The pair took over Cleveland on Wednesday (July 25). which also happened to be the first stop of their OTR II North American leg, performing at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The show features one of the largest stages ever for a concert tour, including two catwalks that extend deep in to the audience and a floating platform that goes over half the length of the stadium. The production is a celebration of love, family and culture, featuring a performance wall embedded within the massive screens, a 26-person vertical orchestra and 17 dancers.
So far, the feedback for the tour has been nothing short of amazing!!. News outlets like Billboard and ‘Rolling Stone’ have had nothing but positive things to say about The Carters’ second joint tour.

‘Mean Girls: The Musical” Has Found Its Cast
Regina George and the gang have been found, as the official cast of the Mean Girls musical has been solidified.
The musical will debut at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. on Oct. 31. The show will feature music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.
Erika Henningsen has been cast in the leading role, as the sheltered Cady Heron. Regina George will be played by Taylor Louderman, Gretchen Wieners by Ashley Park, and the role of Karen Smith ill be portrayed by Kate Rockwell.
All four ladies come from a musical background. Henningsen recently starred in Les Miserables; Louderman is currently starring in Kinky Boots and was also in NBC’s Peter Pan Live!; Park participated in the recent revival of The King and I; meanwhile Rockwell performed in Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, and Hair.
Following the end of the show’s limited engagement on Dec. 3, there are hopes to bring it to Broadway.
