Kate Winslet has given her baby boy an interesting name.
The Titanic star and husband Ned Rocknroll have decided to name their son, Bear Winslet.
The actress welcomed her third child on Dec. 7 at a National Health Service hospital near the West Sussex house she shares with her husband and children.
Winslet already has two children, Mia, 13 and Joe, 10, from previous relationships.
Jennifer Hudson is glammed up for the January 2014 issue of Essence magazine.
The Black Nativity star chatted with the magazine about her upcoming album, her new outlook on life and more.
On her new view on life since turning the big 3-0:
“I spent my twenties figuring out what I wanted to do, and trying everything. But by 30, my foundation was set. I became confident and clear about the path I wanted to take… Now I’ve really settled into myself. And I’m stronger than I’ve ever been.”
On her singing career:
“I learned that I am a musician and I am an artist, and they are two different things completely. It’s one thing to be a musician, where as before I was just a vocalist. Now I’m tapping into myself being a musician and an artist. So I feel like you will find that on this next album.”
On her upcoming album:
“The Jennifer sound is still very soulful and very musician and driven I must say. The music feels like live band, full of tracks. And as far as personality, I feel like it’s more of me coming through since I’ve been writing more. So you’re hearing more from my perspective more so than from someone writing for me and telling me to sing. It’s more like my expression as a person and as a musician as well. And this time around it’s more about lifting people up more so than ‘I’m going to sing you this song and sing it to perfection’ but again it’s more about lifting everyone up.”
The show must go on, even without Woody Allen present.
At the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, Allen is set to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award. Problem is, the famed director may not be attending. Woody Allen is not big on awards shows and hasn’t been seen at one in years. Rumors are swirling that he will not be attending the ceremony, where he is set to be honored.
According to Deadline, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association decided to honor Allen, without confirming from him that he would attend.
“There is no one more worthy of this award than Woody Allen,” the HFPA said in September when making the announcement. “His contributions to filmmaking have been phenomenal, and he truly is an international treasure.”
The movie trailer for Son of God is here.
The movie, which is set to hit theaters February 28, is an edited version of Mark Burnett‘s 10-part History Channel miniseries, The Bible.
At the Produced By Conference back in June, Burnett said, :“Just on the scripted side, I could spend the next 10 years just distributing the Bible series and the movie. I believe that in the next 15 years more people on the planet will have seen our Bible series that haven’t seen it.”
Son of God comes to theaters February 28, 2014. Now, the larger-than-life story of The New Testament gets a larger-than life treatment in the stand-alone feature SON OF GOD. Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from Oscar®-winner Hans Zimmer. Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection. It marks the first motion picture about Jesus’s life since Passion of the Christ, released ten years ago.
Jennifer Hudson fronts Net-A-Porter’s The Edit.
In this new interview, the actress dishes on her new movie, Black Nativity and how life has been since her time on American Idol.
On her Oscar win:
“I didn’t know what the Oscars was. Where we come from, we don’t know anything about that world. If you see it on TV, it’s like, ‘Oh, people in fancy suits and ties.’ Jamie Foxx [her co-star] was like, ‘You know you’re going to win an Oscar?’ I didn’t pay him any attention. I was hired to do a job. That’s all I knew. ”
On her life post American Idol:
“It is so bizarre to me to say, ‘OK, let me go email Alicia [Keys], let me go email Beyonce, let me go talk to Oprah…’ For so long I sat and admire them; now I’m among them. What I feel about people you never heard from again is that they get too caught up in the hype. They think that just getting here is making it. No, it’s not making it. It’s like a losing-weight situation: it’s one thing to lose it, it’s another to keep it off. Well, it’s one thing to make it, but it’s another thing to stay. [That is] why you have to constantly do stuff to keep people’s attention. It’s a hustle, it really is.”
On her upcoming new movie Black Nativity:
“I turned down I don’t know how many [musicals]. What drew me to this is that it’s a holiday film: I’m a holiday fanatic. It’s uplifting – we don’t have enough of that in the world.”
Angela Lansbury isn’t giving the Murder, She Wrote remake her stamp of approval.
Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that a remake of the show was being developed, with Octavia Spencer taking on the lead role. Lansbury, a veteran actress, spent 12 seasons playing the witty detective, Jessica Fletcher on the CBS show.
“I suddenly became a worldwide-known character as Jessica Fletcher and really built an enormous audience, which I have to this day,” the 88-year-old said in a weekend telephone interview from her New York home. “That was the thing that really made me a star in the minds of everybody.”
Lansbury made the role what it was and what it will always be -iconic. She earned 12 consecutive Emmy nominations for her work on the show and worldwide fame. Given this, Lansbury is a little uneasy about remaking the show.
“I think it’s a mistake to call it Murder, She Wrote, Lansbury said, “because Murder, She Wrote will always be about a Cabot Cove and this wonderful little group of people who told those lovely stories and enjoyed a piece of that place, and also enjoyed Jessica Fletcher, who is a rare and very individual kind of person …
“So I’m sorry that they have to use the title Murder, She Wrote, even though they have access to it and it’s their right.”
Lansbury is a fan of Spencer’s work, but not for this role in particular.
“I saw her in The Help and thought she was absolutely wonderful, a lovely actress,” Lansbury said. “So I wish her well, but I wish it wasn’t in ‘Murder, She Wrote.'”

Lawrence was photographed at the Jet Center L.A. for her InStyle shoot, where she donned pieces from Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Céline, and Valentino.
