General Hospital star Kirsten Storms is a married woman!
The actress is expecting her first child, a girl, with husband (yes, you read that right) , Brandon Barash, who played Johnny Zacchara on the ABC soap until last April.
“We’re having a little girl in January,” revealed Barash who secretly wed Storms in June – tells PEOPLE exclusively. ”It’s been the most amazing couple of months of our lives.”
“We kept things quiet because of everything that can go wrong during the first trimester,” Barash, 33, explains. “Kirsten did have a rocky [time] and we were in and out of the hospital.”
It was a rough start to a very welcome surprise for the couple, he adds. “We talked about wanting to have kids and Kirsten was told she could try hormone therapy. It was pretty bleak as far as the probability of her being able to get pregnant … but then we got back from a trip to Amsterdam and discovered we were expecting. We calculated that we conceived the baby in [GH star] Tony Geary‘s guest room!”
With his wife now in her second trimester, Barash says he and Storms are beginning to prepare their daughter’s nursery as they share their happy news.
“A couple of weeks ago she wasn’t really showing, but now her curves have just taken over,” the actor says. “It makes me love her even more. It feels like a fairytale — we are so lucky.”
More information on the couple’s wedding and their baby girl can be found in the Sep. 2 issue of Soaps In Depth ABC.
The poster has received mixed reviews, as some fans of the show expected to see President Fitz Grant (Tony Goldwyn) on the poster as well.
The caption on the poster, which says “The Secret is Out,” is very telling and it may very well be the reason why Goldwyn was left off. It could be a foreshadowing of Ms. Pope being solo this season so she can focus on ‘fixing’ herself for a change.
Season 3 of Scandal premieres on Thursday, October 3 on ABC.
Paula Deen has reportedly turned down an offer to participate on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
In the Aug. 19 issue of Us Weekly, a Dancing With the Stars source says the former Food Network star turned down an offer to compete on the ABC competition show.
“The dance floor is not the appropriate forum for her,” explains a Deen source.
But it seems as though she has some support from Dancing With the Stars co-host Tom Bergeron. “We’ve seen career resurgences after the show,” he tells Us. “People go, ‘I remember why I love that person!'”

Jenny McCarthy is reportedly in talks to join the cast of The View next season.
Since announcing her departure from the show, Joy Behar has been absent from the panel quite often, and the ABC talk show has had a series of guest co-hosts with one of them being McCarthy.
The former MTV host has been one of the few guest co-hosts to appear more than once in a given week and it seems as though the staff over at ABC adores her.
“The cast and crew get a kick out of Jenny,” a set source revealed to US Weekly. “She’s a good fit. She may not be able to carry a show, but she works well with a group ensemble.”
McCarthy is no stranger to hosting, as she has her own talk show on VH1 with comedian Michelle Buteau as her unofficial co-host. Both The View and The Jenny McCarthy show tape in NY, so it is quite possible for the blonde-bombshell to do both.
