Orlando Brown is headed to jail.
The former That’s So Raven star was sentenced to 180 days in jail; he is currently two weeks into the sentence.
Brown remained in custody on Aug. 23, after he failed to show proof that he completed court-ordered alcohol ed classes for his 2011 DUI arrest.
In 2007, Brown, who was 19 at the time, was arrested for marijuana possession in Houston. He was arrested again in 2011 for a DUI. Brown’s manager said he was just “in the driver’s seat and popped in the CD. He wasn’t going anywhere.” The actor was not thrown in jail, instead he struck a deal that required him to attend an alcohol education class. unfortunately, he never signed up for the class and after failing to meet probation conditions, he was arrested in May 2012. Two months later, he was busted for being a no-show in court.
Renown DJ Funkmaster Flex and wife Monica Joseph-Taylor have decided to separate after almost 20 years of marriage. Flex’s wife broke the news to fans, and well the media, via her twitter page. She said:
“After almost 18 years of friendship and marriage it is with great regret that I announce my husband Aston Taylor, also known as Funkmaster Flex, and I are separated. We have tremendous love and respect for each-other, and will continue to work on our professional projects together. Our top priority has and will always be our children! I personally ask that the press keep in mind Flex is the celebrity, not myself or my children, please respect our privacy!”
Monica didn’t say whether or not this decision was made as a result of Funkmaster Flex’s arrest this past February. In case you didn’t know, the DJ was arrested in New York after an unidentified woman told police Flex pushed her and attempted to break her phone. The cops responded to a call made by what TMZ said was a 40-year-old woman. Flex was not at the house when police arrived , but they later caught up with him and he was arrested.
Looks like Gucci Mane forgot the lesson he said he learned while in prison. The rapper was arrested yesterday and charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, obstruction of justice, no license, running a red light or stop sign, damage to government property, no proof of insurance and other traffic charges, according to APD spokesman Curtis Davenport.
Mane was so out of it, at the time of his arrest, that the arresting officers had to restrain the rapper with pepper spray. This arrest comes months after Mane was released from Fulton County Jail for violating parole.
Here’s what Mane told the media when he was released from jail on May 12, 2010:
“I have made some mistakes in my life that have hurt a lot of people who care about me.
“I have worked very hard to get past them, but those mistakes have brought me to where I am today, and they will not be repeated. These past six months have been a difficult time, but fortunately I have learned a great deal from my experience. I was able to do a great deal of soul searching; I am coming out with a new attitude towards life.”
