Jem and the Holograms is coming to life!
The classic 80s cartoon is hitting the big screen in live-action form and the superstar ladies have already been cast.
Nashville star Aubrey Peeples will take on the role of Jerrica “Jem” Benton. Newcomers Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko have signed on to play Jem’s Hologram bandmates.
The cartoon followed Starlight Music Manager Jerrica, who would turn into Rocker Jem with the help of her earrings.
Justin Bieber‘s manager, Scooter Braun, and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never director Jon M. Chu announced the project earlier this year.

Jennifer Lopez is now a Barbie doll.
Earlier this week, two versions of a doll modeled after the singer’s likeness was unveiled. One doll features one of JLo’s looks off the red carpet and the other is a costume she wore during her world tour.
“I wanted to live in Barbie’s world, I wanted to be Barbie,” Lopez says in a video promoting the doll’s release. “I think Barbie represents infinite possibilities.”
Though the doll looks like JLo face-wise, many fans are puzzled as to why the figurines don’t have the singer’s signature curves. It’s obvious Lopez is not a stick figure, but it seems like Mattel is sticking to the doll’s standard body type; no matter which celebrity its coined after.
Nicki Minaj celebrated her birthday with some of her industry friends at TAO, December 9, 2010 in Las Vegas. Cassie, Lil Wayne, Amber Rose, Baby and Mack Maine were all at the celebrations. In true Minaj fashion, the female emcee even had a Barbie-like cake. Check out pictures from the event below.

Singer/actress Janet Jackson covers the latest issue of A&U (America’s AIDS Magazine). In this issue, Jackson talks about her new book, her views of the disease and more. View some of the snippets from the interview below.
Janet on the importance of talking about AIDS:
“And we should also feel comfortable talking about the disease at home and in our community. It is important that we tell our kids to love themselves enough to protect themselves. It’s all our responsibility.”

“Yes I do, and I suggest that everyone who is sexually active do it, too.”
Janet on her new book,” True Y0u” which will be released in 2011:
“I recently wrote a book entitled True You. It’s about my experiences internalizing everything, holding everything in, feeling inadequacy and shame. How I was able to begin to achieve happiness was by having that [one particular] person to open up to.”
Janet on why she cares so much about AIDS/HIV:
“I want to help! This is a horrible disease that affects us all. It doesn’t discriminate. I want to do my part.” She concludes: “I think it’s important for all of us to get involved. This is the only way that we are going to get a hold of this disease, especially with the youth, and in third-world countries. All of us need to help….”

Here’s a full desciption of the doll:
What’s a doll to do when she’s face-to-face with multi-Grammy award winning artist and actress Janet Jackson? Swoon! That’s exactly what happened when I met Miss Janet, and I’m beyond thrilled to have been involved in look-alike doll project. Inspired by the ultra-glam black gown she wore during her 2010 American Idol performance, I knew we had to recreate that look for her one of a kind doll. Mattel Designer Jackeline Gonzalez duplicated the black gown, including the body-hugging cat-suit underneath that she revealed during her second, upbeat performance. Her gown is kissed with bling created by countless hand-placed Swarovski crystals. Even her mic is crystal-studded.
Look closely dolls, Janet’s sassy, short hairstyle, unique face and body sculpt and face painting all meticulously duplicate the legendary singer’s features.
