Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill” Heads to Broadway



Alanis Morissette is the latest musician to have her music come alive on a Broadway stage.

Morissette’s 1995 LP,  Jagged Little Pill, is coming to the Broadway stage.

Morissette announced the news on Friday, stating that the show  will debuting in workshops some time in 2014. The show’s concept will be similar to other  musicals based on tunes by artists such as Green Day, Billy Joel and The Beatles.

“I look forward to taking the heart of Jagged Little Pill and expanding its story, fleshing it out into ever deeper layers of emotionality, specificity, humanity, power, physicality, spirit and fabulism,” Morissette said in a statement.

The show, titled Jagged Little Pill, will feature all  13 tracks from  the album, as well as songs from Morissette’s later albums and new songs written specifically for the show. Tom Kitt, who composed American Idiot with Green Day, will help Morissette with the composition of new songs.


‘Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth’ Comes to HBO Nov. 16




Mike Tyson‘s highly acclaimed one-man show is heading to television.

The champ’s show, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, goes from the stage to HBO this November.

The documentary was filmed during Tyson’s on-stage show. This HBO documentary was filmed by Spike Lee and will air on Saturday, November 16 at 8PM ET.


La Toya Jackson to Star in Off-Broadway Show, ‘Newsical the Musical’


La Toya Jackson is heading to the stage in NY.

Jackson will star in the off- Broadway show, Newsical the Musical starting Sept. 3.

The singer-producer will take over for actress  Jackée Harry (Sister Sister).

“I’ve wanted to do [theater], but on Broadway the shows play for such a long, extended time,” said Jackson.

Jackson will star in the off-Broadway show through Sept. 8.

To prepare for the role, Jackson took an acting workshop. In an addition to that, she checked out Kim Coles and Kym Whitley’s weekly Ladies Night Live Comedy Show  in LA.

Once Jackson’s run is over, she can then decide whether or not she wants to return later on.

Jane Lynch to Divorce Wife of Three Years


Jane Lynch and her wife of three-years, Dr. Lara Embry, have decided to pull the plug on their marriage.

The Glee star, 52, met Embry 44, back in 2009. In May 2010,  the pair exchanged vows in Massachusetts where same-sex marriage is legal.

Lynch released the following statement to PEOPLE. It reads: “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”

Lynch is currently starring on Broadway as ‘Miss Hannigan’ in revival  musical, Annie. This divorce announcement comes a day after Lynch’s stellar performance at the 2013 Tony Awards on June 9 at Radio City Music Hall.
