Disney has axed Girl Meets World after just two seasons.
The show was a spin-off of the popular 90s show, Boy Meets World, which starred Ben Savage. The spin-off started out with strong ratings, but it was not able to hold its own like the original.
“It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over,” the @GMWwriters account tweeted Wednesday. “I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty. Please watch our January episodes.”
The Twitter account, which is rumored to be run by showrunner Michael Jacobs, continued: “We leave you with three incredible souvenirs of a show we couldn’t be more proud of. As I look back I can tell you with absolute certainty – We gave you our best.”
The show’s three final episodes will air this January. The series stars Peyton Meyer as Lucas Friar.
Girl Meets World airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
Miley Cyrus gets candid in the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar!
She’s taken a lot of heat over the past few months for her provocative antics. However, Cyrus is dishing on why she’s acting like a child, now that she’s an adult. Since this interview, Cyrus and fiance Liam Hemsworth have called off their engagement. Read on to see what cyrus had to say before the two parted ways.
On life since Hannah Montana ended:
“I took off and I just wanted to party. I worked so hard, and I wanted to buy a house and just chill. I was an adult when I was supposed to be a kid. So now I’m an adult and I’m acting like a kid. I can’t believe I’m allowed to be here alone.”
On her wedding plans:
“I definitely don’t have time to deal with a wedding right now. But I will at some point.”
On her new image:
“We’re in a world of selfies. I told my label, ‘This is the first time I’m showing what I’m bringing to the table as an artist. If this goes wrong, you never have to trust me again. I’ll be your little puppet. But if I’m right then you know I’m on to something.'”
“I’m not saying you need to take a break because you’re crazy. I’m saying you need to take a break so you can be crazy, and people aren’t going to judge you. You’re going to do dumb stuff from here on out. But do it in your own time. Do it safely. You can afford to protect yourself and still have fun.”
A mini Boy Meets World reunion occurred on the set of the pilot of the upcoming spin-off , Girl Meets World.
Last week, original BMW cast members Rider Strong (Shawn), Will Fredle (Eric) and William Daniels (Mr. Feeny) were spotted on the set of the upcoming Disney Channel show.
It has not been confirmed whether or not the threesome would appear on the actual pilot, but why else would they be there?
Eric and Jack’s (Matthew Lawrence) roommate in the later years Rachel (Mailtand Ward) was also on-set.
The spin-off will mainly focus on Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley ( Rowan Blanchard), and her friends, but executive producer Michael Jacobs has expressed an interest in bringing back the original stars for guest spots.

Looks like things aren’t so happy-go-lucky in the Cyrus household. Singer Billy Ray Cyrus revealed to GQ magazine that his daughter Miley‘s handlers meddled their relationship and they also prevented him from properly parenting her through difficult situations.
Cyrus believes that the show “Hannah Montana” ruined his relationship with daughter Miley.
“The damn show destroyed my family,” said Cyrus.
Apparently, Billy Ray hasn’t spoken to Miley since the infamous bong video surfaced. “I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger,” proclaimed Billy Ray.
Just when you thought he was making sense, Billy claimed that his family was under attack by Satan.
The worried father wishes that Hannah Montana never happened. “I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal,” he said.
Billy even went so far as to compare Miley to Anna Nicole Smith — saying, “You could see that train wreck coming.”
