“Son of God” [Movie Trailer]

The movie trailer for Son of God is here.

The movie, which is set to hit theaters February 28, is an edited version of Mark Burnett‘s 10-part History Channel miniseries, The Bible.

At the Produced By Conference back in June, Burnett said, :“Just on the scripted side, I could spend the next 10 years just distributing the Bible series and the movie. I believe that in the next 15 years more people on the planet will have seen our Bible series that haven’t seen it.”

Movie Synopsis:

Son of God comes to theaters February 28, 2014. Now, the larger-than-life story of The New Testament gets a larger-than life treatment in the stand-alone feature SON OF GOD. Told with the scope and scale of an action epic, the film features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and a rich orchestral score from Oscar®-winner Hans Zimmer. Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado portrays Jesus as the film spans from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection. It marks the first motion picture about Jesus’s life since Passion of the Christ, released ten years ago.

History Channel to Remake “ROOTS”

A ROOTS remake is in the works.

History is  planning a new eight-hour ROOTS miniseries after acquiring rights to the 12-hour original from Mark Wolper, son of ROOTS executive producer, the late David L. Wolper.

The network is beginning discussions with writers for the remake, which will be a combination of both the book and the original miniseries, but have a contemporary perspective.

“We would like to revive that cultural icon for a new audience,” said History EVP and GM Dirk Hoogstra.

Jessie J Covers GLAMOUR UK [August]

Jessie J dazzles on the August cover of GLAMOUR UK!

The songstress dishes on living the single life, her new album Gold and why she’s decided to take her time growing her hair back.

Check out a few snippets from her Glamour UK feature.

On not having a significant other:
“I’m addicted to my job right now. I want to be a good daughter, I want to be a good sister, I want to be a great aunt, I want to be a great friend. I know I’ve got the right friends because they understand when they haven’t seen me for three months and then when I do see them, it’s exactly as it was before. And if I did meet somebody, I would only ever make room for someone that love me how I deserved to be loved. Until then… I’ve got my shoes, I’ve got my album, my dog.”

On taking her time growing her hair back:
“I think I will grow it back at some point, but I want to make the point that when I said I was going to shave my head for charity, I was going to shave my head for charity. There’s a big difference between shaving your head and then growing it back in five minutes.”

On her new album, Gold:
“I listen back to it and I feel like my insides are smiling… You go into the studio and go, ‘F***, what am I going to sing about? Aeroplanes? Dressing rooms?’ You have to really dig deep and that’s why you have to make time for a social life, to have something to write about. Some of them are very personal and I’m scared for the world to hear them. However, with the first album I was scared for people to hear – and look at the good it’s done… So I think it’s going to be great.”
