The show must go on, even without Woody Allen present.
At the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, Allen is set to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award. Problem is, the famed director may not be attending. Woody Allen is not big on awards shows and hasn’t been seen at one in years. Rumors are swirling that he will not be attending the ceremony, where he is set to be honored.
According to Deadline, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association decided to honor Allen, without confirming from him that he would attend.
“There is no one more worthy of this award than Woody Allen,” the HFPA said in September when making the announcement. “His contributions to filmmaking have been phenomenal, and he truly is an international treasure.”
Francesca Eastwood is already tired of being a wife.
According to a new report, Eastwood and her new husband, Jordan Feldstein, regret their intoxicated impromptu marriage and are looking to have the marriage annulled.
Eastwood, daughter of Clint Eastwood, and Feldstein, brother of Jonah Hill, tied the knot during a Las Vegas wedding on Sunday November 17.
Francesca attended the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s awards party in West Hollywood a few days ago and wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.
Sosie Bacon, daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, has been named the 2014 Miss Golden Globe, by the Hollywood Foreign Press.
The 21-year-old got her start in the 2005 movie Loverboy, which was directed by her father. She also appeared alongside her mom in The Closer.
“As we all know, she comes from a very talented family and this gets us one degree closer to Kevin Bacon,” said HFPA President Theo Kingma at an announcement party in West Hollywood.
“Miss Golden Globe (also Mr. Golden Globe) is an annual title awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The honoree, traditionally the daughter (or son) of a celebrity, assists in the Association’s Golden Globe Awards.”
A proud Kevin Bacon posted the news on his Facebook page, along with an adorable throwback photo of the pair. He wrote, “Congrats to my beautiful Sosie #missgoldenglobe I love you yesterday , today, and forever #browneyes http://www.whosay.com/l/”
The 2014 Golden Globes will air Jan. 12.
The Golden Globes have locked in its hosts for the next two-years.
Comediennes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have inked deals to host the next two Golden Globe Awards, beginning with the January 12, 2014 show.
The ladies were first asked to return over the summer, following the pair’s first successful stint as hosts for the show this year. With Poehler and Fey hosting, it was one of the most watched Golden Globes ever.
“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said NBC’s alternative programming president Paul Telegdy. “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”
After Ricky Gervais vanished for an hour during the 68th Annual Golden Globes telecast on Sunday night, we all knew trouble was looming. According to PopEater, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) was fuming from the comedian’s jokes.
“Ricky will not be invited back to host the show next year, for sure,” a member of the HFPA tells me, adding that Gervais’ relentlessly mean shtick could have even larger consequences. “For sure any movie he makes he can forget about getting nominated. He humiliated the organization last night and went too far with several celebrities whose representatives have already called to complain.”
The HFPA believe that Gervais went too far with his heckling of celebrities.
Some of Gervais controversial jokes included:
“It’s going to be a night of partying and heavy drinking — or as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast.”
“It seems like everything this year was 3-dimensional — except for the characters in The Tourist,” Gervais said. “I haven’t even seen ‘The Tourist’ — who has?”
The joke that seemed to get the most boos from the audience was when Gervais referred to Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor‘s performances in ‘I Love You, Phillip Morris’ as “two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay. So, the complete opposite of some famous Scientologists, then.” The not-so-subtle dig at Tom Cruise and John Travolta (we can presume) was met with boos and groans
Gervais even took a dig at Robert Downey Jr.‘s legal and substance abuse troubles. but instead of fighting fire with fire Robert took the humble route. “Aside from the fact that it’s been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I’d say the vibe of the show’s pretty good so far, wouldn’t you?” Downey Jr. asked.
“Ricky blew it big time. It’s one thing to make fun of celebrities but it’s another to make them totally uncomfortable,” an insider told PopEater. “People in that room were furious but had to sit and smile because the camera’s were on them. It really says something when several people who attended said they would have felt safer with Kathy Griffin hosting.”
I guess this time around Ricky can’t blame it on the ALLLL-Co-hol
