Britney Spears Talks Motherhood and Vegas with InStyle

britjeaninstyle

Britney Spears covers the Jan. 2014 issue of InStyle magazine.

With a new album and show in Vegas, the Pop Princes is doing just fine. Spears sat down with the magazine to dish on being a mom, her Vegas show and her body.

Check out some InStyle snippets below.

On how she views and treats her body:
“I think it’s important to look good and feel good about yourself, but I go both ways on it. I think it’s cruel how the world puts so much emphasis on our looks. I was just watching ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians,’ and I see Kim and what she went through when she was pregnant – the tabloids were so mean to her because she was big. At one point in the show she was upset and said something like, ‘I would be lying if I said that the criticism from the paparazzi while I’ve been pregnant hasn’t taken a toll on me,’ And I was like, ‘Bless her heart,’ Because I remember that time. First of all you are already emotional, and then the paparazzi are taking pictures of you pregnant. That should be the time [in your life] when your body is the most treasured, I love being pregnant for so many reasons, not to mention the sex is awesome then. But in this business you make a deal with the devil. I’ve learned you kind of have to go with it. What I do calls for me to look good. People expect that.I kind of take it as my job.”

On being a mom:
“As a mom, you have all these situations you go through and you’re like, ‘What is going on? Is this normal? Is this a phase? Or what is this?’ and then you feel silly for asking questions because you know, I’m a mom. I’m supposed to know these things, but you don’t. You’re human. To be honest, I wish I had more mom friends.”

On her Las Vegas rehearsals:
“The physical demands are tremendous, I’m rehearsing at least three or fours a day, sometimes even five. My body yesterday- I just felt so bad, I had to get two massages in one day! When I was younger, I wasn’t as likely to rehearse as hard as I do now. I’m harder on myself these days. Before, I would practice two times, and I’m done. Nowadays I’m very critical of myself.”

On what advice she gives young Hollywood starlets:
“My advice for the next generation of stars? Don’t care too much about what other people think. What matters is your own point of view.”

Glamour‘s October covergirl Kerry Washington dishes on why she’s so private.

Washington shocked the world this summer when she married husband San Francisco 49ers corner back Nnamdi Asomugha in July. Many fans wonder why she would keep her loving relationship such a secret, and here’s why.

On why she keeps her personal life away from the spotlight:

“I learned through experience that it doesn’t work for me to talk about my personal life,”

“I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it,”( Washington was once engaged to actor David Moscow, but the couple split in 2007. )

“But I couldn’t just turn around and say, ‘I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff,’ ” she says. “So I just thought, ‘OK, no more.’ ”

On how she deals with people who congratulate her on her marriage:
“I’m walking around in the world with my ring. And when people say congratulations, I say thank you,” Washington tells the magazine. “But I’m going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold.”

On why she chose the secretive approach:

“I don’t want to sound smug about it … but the point is to do what’s best for me,” she explains.

“I have girlfriends in this business who talk about their personal lives, and it works for them, and I love it. But not for me.”

This issue of Glamour, hits newsstands on Sept. 10.

Taylor Swift Talks Love In June 2011 Issue of InStyle Magazine

Taylor Swift has gone from CoverGirl spokesmodel to an actual  cover girl. Swift graces the cover of the June 2011 issue of InStyle magazine. In this issue, the Country singer opens up about the topic of love. Although she’s been linked to a few men in Hollywood, Taylor doesn’t care what a guy does for a living.

Check out a snippet of what Taylor had to say about love below.

“There are no rules when it comes to love,” Swift told InStyle. “I just try to let love surprise me because you never know who you’re going to fall in love with. You never know who’s going to come into your life—and for me, when I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them.”

I have this really high priority on happiness and finding something to be happy about,”

This explains why Taylor’s always making those love songs. Might I add, it’s refreshing to see her without the Shirley Temple-like curls. She’s blossoming int a gorgeous young woman.
