Jay Pharoah: I Am A Dog (Kanye West “I Am A God” Parody)

Comedian and impersonator Jay Pharaoh has found a new way to imitiate Kanye West.

Pharaoh is known for his hilarious parodies of West on SNL, so it’s only fitting that he take things to the next level by re-creating one of the emcee’s songs.

In the video, the comedian dresses up like a dog and raps to a song called “I Am A Dog,” which is a play on West’s song, “I Am A god” from the Yeezus album. On top of writing hilarious lyrics as a dog, Pharaoh’s delivery shows that he’s a pretty good rapper.

The parody was written by Pharaoh, with Caroline Chewning serving as producer.

Kris Jenner’s Talk Show Cancelled?

Kris Jenner‘s talk show, Kris, will not live to see more than six-weeks.

FOX execs have told Jenner will not be coming back for a full season.

Sources say she was  told, “There is no chance the show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it.”

“Kris did get a ratings bump for her last show when Kanye West revealed the first baby pic of daughter, North West, with Kim, but that was a one time shot in the arm and it wouldn’t be indicative of what the ratings trend would be,” a source close to the production told

Jenner follows in the footsteps of Ricki Lake and Jeff Probst who were cancelled after just one season.

“It’s a very crowded market and Kris didn’t do anything to set herself apart from the field. Believe it or not, most of America doesn’t want to hear about the Kardashian’s for an hour everyday,” the source revealed.

Expect an announcement from FOX in the coming weeks.  The network has decided to halt the official announcement due to the current situation involving Khloe Kardashian’s husband, Lamar Odom.

“It will be announced in a low key fashion, probably on a Friday afternoon so it won’t generate a ton of negative press for Kris,” the insider added.

Miley Cyrus Recording “Black Skinhead” Remix with Kanye West?

An unlikely pairing is rumored to be working on a song together.

According to Page Six, after her controversial performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs, Miley Cyrus went right into the studio with Kanye West to record a remix of his song “Black Skinhead,”

The publication is reporting that the “We Can’t Stop” singer skipped her own VMA after-party at No. 8 and went into the studio for what her reps are calling as a late-night, “top- secret” collaboration  with West.

It has also been said that West (who did not attend pal Jay-Z’s after party)  headed straight to the studio after the awards show.

If true, Cyrus will appear on the  remix of “Black Skinhead,” as a part of a remix EP that west will be releasing later this year.

West was supposed to perform the track at the VMAs, but changed his mind at the last minute and performed “Blood on the Leaves” instead.

Kim Kardashian Calls Katie Couric a “Fake Media Friend”

Not all gifts are well-received.

Kim Kardashian posted an Instagram  photo (shown above) of the gift that talk show host Katie Couric sent long for her baby girl, North West.

The photo shows a polkadot pajama set with a note that reads: “Dear Kim and Kanye, Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl! And may I humbly suggest you continue the K tradition. Fondly, Katie Couric.”
Unfortunately, Kim K. wasn’t too pleased with Couric’s gesture. Alongside the photo, Kardashian wrote, “#IHateFakeMediaFriends #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkS—”

Kardashian didn’t state why she slammed Couric, but it could have something to do with a comment the host made during a recent interview. Couric said she didn’t understand why the Kardashians are famous and guessed that their fans were”mostly teenage girls.”

Couric later explained the basis for her  statement: “I’ve met Kim before and I think she’s a really sweet person. I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascination with her family. I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”

Daft Punk & Pharrell Cover VIBE’s Summer Issue

Daft Punk and Pharrell have one of the hottest songs of the summer. So what better way to praise the dynamic trio than by putting them on the cover of VIBE’s Summer Issue.

This issue, which also serves as the magazine’s 20th Anniversary issue, has the “Get Lucky” singers dishing on the success of the hit 80s band’s new album, Random Access Memories.

VIBE: What drew you guys to work with Pharrell on Random Access Memories?
THOMAS BANGALTER: We’ve always been big fans of his work and output as a producer, rapper and musician. But what we really appreciate more than anything is a multitalented artist that has a strong aura and is super talented, charismatic and very glamorous. His natural glamour—he is as elegant in jeans [as he is] in a tuxedo.

Do you remember your first time hearing Daft Punk?

WILLIAMS: I’ll never forget. I was talking to this girl, and all of a sudden I heard a song and was like, “What the fuck is that?” Because it just seemed like something regal, something very royal and different, from a higher caliber. When that guy sang “One More Time,” I was like, “What the?!” And then it was everywhere. Like, I heard it in cars in the hood. From that point I was in love with the sound and the groove. Isn’t that the most amazing feeling when we hear something and ask, “What is it?”
GUY-MANUEL DE HOMEM-CHRISTO: That never happens to us.
BANGALTER: It’s cool as a musician to be challenged by new music. It’s always something you look for, because all of us are music lovers. We have this repertoire where each time there is a song that makes a difference, people know it.

Did you expect Random Access Memories to be received so well after being off the scene for so long?

BANGALTER: We were very surprised about how much our project got noticed in a world where we went undercover for a long time. But there is no fear in what we are doing. There is no insecurity of being in the spotlight or losing the spotlight—that’s not what drives us. We’re amazed at how many ways we can connect with people through music and art because we don’t take anything for granted.

You connected with Kanye West to help produce his Yeezus LP. It sounds very different from when he sampled you guys for “Stronger.”

BANGALTER: It’s good that it is different, beccause the impact that “Stronger” had is very important. Somehow, it turned out to be this combination between hip-hop and electronic music, and almost started the mix of those genres. We’re all trying to push the envelope and to see where the music can go.

“Lose Yourself to Dance” is the second single, also featuring Pharrell. What is the statement of that song?

WILLIAMS: “Lose Yourself to Dance” makes me feel like walking down the street in the middle of the night in London and it’s 1984, 1985. I don’t hear ’70s in that at all. For me, it doesn’t sound at all like a Bowie record, but I feel like David Bowie would have loved that record. He could actually sing it.
BANGALTER: We’re trying to define—or redefine—what dance floor music can be. Whether it’s something lighter or something more primer. “Lose Yourself to Dance” is almost this idea of a timeless place or dance floor where you can lose yourself. The idea of unity of the dance floor, people being connected.
