Katy Perry Dishes on John Mayer in MARIE CLAIRE [Jan. ’14]

ma-katpe

Katy Perry is on top of the world these days. Perry covers the January 2014 issue of Marie Claire.

The singer is getting ready to go on tour, she’s been nominated for a couple of Grammys for ‘Roar” and she’s in love.

Check out some of her Marie Claire quotes!

On Russell Brand:
“There were two weeks of my life after I found out the truth of my marriage where I was like, ‘OK. All right. I can’t feel this. This is too intense right now.’ I was, like, just eating Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and drinking, and that’s it.”

On her relationship with John Mayer:
“He’s just a fantastic partner. I’ve been a fan of his for such a long time. He’s got a brilliant, brilliant mind. It’s a rad, mature relationship.”

On taking a break:
“I took a break from my boyfriend, not one that I wanted. It was like a splash of cold water to search inward on what was going on with me. That is what let me to this new awakening, this realizing, If I don’t do some self-love, I’m not going to be able to keep the love that I want. I still needed to deal with all of my ex-husband stuff. I hadn’t. It’s almost like if I kept talking about it, it would seem like I actually cared about it. I don’t.”

On her parents:
“People don’t understand that I have a great relationship with my parents – like, how that can exist. There isn’t any judgment. They don’t necessarily agree with everything I do, but I don’t necessarily agree with everything they do. They’re at peace with – they pray for me is what they do. They’re fascinated with the idea that they created someone who has this much attention on her. My parents are Republicans, and I’m not. They didn’t vote for Obama, but when I was asked to sign at the inauguration, they were like, ‘We can come.’ And I was like, ‘No, you can’t.’ They understood, but I was like, ‘How dare you?’ in a way.”

On having a family in the future:
“I’m definitely not there yet, and I can’t plan that far in advance. When I decide to have a family, I’ll just want to be Mom for a little bit. [Brand] really wanted me to have children, and I knew I wasn’t ready – I think it was a way of control. I think it was part of, If I have a kid, then I would have to sacrifice – I’d have to be home more. I really wanted to, but I knew I wasn’t ready for it. It wasn’t like, ‘Hey, let’s have a kid because we’re in love.”

Scarlett Johansson Talks Relationships & Porn with MARIE CLAIRE UK

scarjo-mc

Scartlett Johansson isn’t shy and it shows.

The actress covers the newest issue of Marie Claire UK, where she talks about relationships and why women enjoy porn as well. Check out some of what she had to say below.

On her engagement announcement:
“My friend emailed me and said, ‘Wow, it’s so great that you’re about to go do this huge invasive press tour for 10 days. He said, ‘That won’t bring up every awkward question you don’t want to answer and won’t’ And I was like, you know, it is what it is.”

On her views on relationships:
“I can certain relate to this habit of wanting your partner to just kind of fit into this mold you’ve made for them. We do place pressure on somebody to just do it the way we think it should be done. It takes growth and searching to understand that it is the difference in relationships that enrich and strength the relationship, that helps us evolve as people and partners. I understand that conviction; I know that is something I am guilty of.”

On her thoughts about porn:
“I think porn like anything else, can be enjoyed. It can be productive for both men and women. If I found out my boyfriend watched that much porn I would be totally flabbergasted, for sure.”

marieclairevhoct

Vanessa Hudgens covers the October issue of Marie Claire magazine.

Read on to discover what Hudgens had to say about enjoying life, how she dealt with her nude photo leak scandal and much more.

On not being tied to her phone:

“If you’re always worried about being on your phone, then you really are missing out on everything that’s happening in front of you,”

On loving her alone time:
“I can be in a big crowd and get along, but I’m totally fine being by myself as well,”On enjoying life:

“A sense of knowing I’m a part of something bigger than myself has allowed me to enjoy life more. And not worry about the little things.”

On what bothers her:

“When people fight. That gives me really bad anxiety. When people can’t resolve things, it really upsets me.”

On how people responded to her once she became famous:

“I’m a private person. Nothing can prepare you for that.” On a press tour in London, “there were so many fans flocking our car, it was rocking back and forth — like we were the Beatles or something. It was bananas.”

On how she dealt with her photos being leaked online:
“I couldn’t do anything but laugh. It’s amazing how people like to create something out of absolutely nothing,” she says. “I am human like everyone else. I am aware that there are people who look up to me. When mistakes are made, they aren’t intentional, and I constantly push myself to be a better person.” The lessons learned are implicit in her attitude toward protecting herself. “It’s one thing to have a chat with someone, it’s another to have them know your deepest, darkest secrets. Just because people enjoy watching you in films doesn’t mean they have to know everything about your entire life.”

p!nkausmc

P!nk blazes the cover of  Marie Claire Australia.

The singer chats it up with Marie Claire Australia about parenthood and whether or not she wants more children. Check out some excerpts below.

On life before motherhood:
“It’s different. I used to stay up till 4 o’clock in the morning on the Internet, drinking wine, smoking cigarettes, wake up at noon, roll out of bed, got to the gym. Now it’s foot-on-face here, hot breath… it’s just awesome. It’s exhausting and it’s terrifying and it’s the best thing that has ever happened.”

On parenting ups and downs:
“When we got home from the hospital, Willow had a meltdown and I had a meltdown and it was like a mother-of-all meltdowns for both of us. Carey didn’t know who to comfort first. He was like, ‘arrrggggghhhhh.’ It’s like, ‘Wait you sound like her!’ Carey’s eyes were like saucers. He didn’t know what to do.”

On wanting more kids in the future:
“I don’t want to do the baby stuff five times, but the idea of, like, a holiday with five kids fighting and me just sitting at the head of the table cracking up, pouring more wine, I just love that idea. I love the idea of all the chaos.”

A lot of people said my lawyer made a mistake, and I want to say that my lawyer is a great lawyer, and he did not make a mistake. It felt weird, but I feel OK about how I’ve handles my finances. It felt like a violation, but once you get over it, you go, ‘Well, if it’s out there, it’s out there.'”

On what she learned  from being married and getting a divorce:
“I will say this: Whether you’re married or not, if you’re in a relationship, if you have to wake up every day and say, ‘I want to stay with this person.’ You have to take the commitment every day and every second and every minute.”

On her relationship:
“I will say we got the dogs together and he loves them very much.”

On having children:
“I’m not going to answer that question. I’m not mad at you for asking that question, but I’ve said it before: I don’t think people ask men those questions.”
