Rihanna is MAC’s New Viva Glam Girl

MAC Cosmetics is adding a new face to their VIva Glam line; and her name is Rihanna.

The beauty brand will unveil a designated Viva Glam lipstick with the singer in January 2014.

MAC unveiled the news on Twitter, writing, “Welcome to #VIVAGLAM@Rihanna! Arriving January 2014.”

The complete details of line have not been revealed yet.

Viva Glam Lipstick was introduced in 1994 to help raise money for the M·A·C AIDS Fund.

In the past, MAC’s VIva Glam has showcased advertising campaigns with celebrities such as, Sir Elton John, Mary J. Blige,  Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Pamela Anderson,  Dita Von Teese, Fergie, Cyndi Lauper, Lady Gaga, and  Ricky Martin & Nicki Minaj.

Missy Elliot to Perform at KCON 2013

Grammy Award-winning rapper Missy Elliott is heading to KCON 2013.

KCON is the world’s largest K-Pop fan convention. The “Get Ur Freak” on rapper will  perform as part of the event’s M COUNTDOWN What’s up LA concert on August 25.

“I’m excited to be a part of KCON. This event will allow me to interact with a diverse group of artists and fans,” said Missy Elliott.

KCON is bigger and better than ever! Not only has the event moved to Los Angeles, but for the first time it has expanded to two days. “The star-studded K-pop concert will bring to close a convention that covers every nook and cranny of Korean pop culture through a wide variety of panels, workshops, artist engagement sessions and more.”

“The combination of rap royalty and some of K-pop’s biggest names performing at the same event in Los Angeles is exactly why we have created KCON,” said Ted Kim, president and CEO of Mnet America.  “For one weekend, the Los Angeles Sports Memorial will become the capital of K-pop in America.”

 

KCON is set to take place on August 24 and 25 at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles. The concert will also be the first ever U.S. taping of the #1 K-Pop countdown show, MCOUNTDOWN.  Headlining acts of M COUNTDOWN What’s up LA includes leading K-pop artists, such as EXO, f(x), 2AM, TEEN TOP, Dynamic Duo, and leader of K-pop super group BIG BANG, G Dragon.

Timbaland Talks New Music, Drake & Aaliyah with REVOLT

It’s no secret that Timbaland was a big fan of Aaliyah, but in this interview with REVOLT, the super-producer reveals his admiration for Drake.

In the video, Timbaland can be heard calling Drake a “young soldier” and even predicts that the Young Money emcee will be around for a long time.

He also dishes on a “secret” song Nas is currently working on with Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Check out the video of Mr. Timbaland below.

Ciara, Fantasia, Raven Symone, Missy Elliot, Keyshia Cole, and Ruby Dee were just some of the women who attended the 5th Annual Black Women Rock! Awards on October 16, 2010 in New York City. The award show paid tribute to women in the African American entertainment community who continuously make strides in the field. Shontelle, Fantasia, Keri Hilson, and Keyshia Cole performed at the event. Ruby Dee, Missy Elliot, and Marcelite J. Harris were honored at the event.

Holding You Down (Goin’ In Circles)” is the lead single off of  Jazmine Sullivan‘s  sophomore  studio album.

The song samples an array of previous hits. Some of which include:  Nas’ “Affirmative Action” and Mary J. Blige’s “Be Happy.” Check out the official music video for the song below.
