After covering the Blue Carpet for the 2013 Teen Choice Awards Sunday night, Jordin Sparks chatted with Ryan Seacrest about the event and the latest happenings in life  On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
On working on new music:
“I’m so excited and I’m nervous, as well, like are people ready for this?” she admits.
On her new Tattoo:
“Jason [Derulo] and I went on vacation to Bora Bora and you know we both love our ink, so we went to one of the best Polynesian tattoo artists and Jason got a huge one, [but] mine is small and dainty [and] it means ‘Unity,’ which I really like … Here’s a little personal [note] cause Jason and I are definitely working on that, like really trying to come together and make decisions together, and you know try and not argue … so I thought unity was really, really great.”
On potentially working with Miguel:
“I’ve been working on my new music as well and it’s been funny because someone I’ve been working with knows Miguel and I’m like, ‘How is it I have not been able to get in touch with him?’ So I used the opportunity to be like, ‘Hey I’ve really been trying to reach out to you, I’d love to work with you.’ And he said he did as well, so hopefully we can get something done soon here, so I can get it on my record.” –
On her new song, “Skipping a Beat:”
“I wanted to give fans a new taste for the new direction I’m going in. It’s older, but fun and happy and sexy at the same time.”

Jordin Sparks’s song “Skipping a Beat” hits iTunes this Wednesday, August 14.
