Adriana de Moura Calls for Lolita’s Freedom From the Miami Seaquarium

Real Housewives of Miami star Adriana de Moura stars in a provocative new ad for PETA that asks, “Could You Live in a Bathtub for 40 Years?”

The meaning behind the ad is to bring light to  the orca Lolita, who has been imprisoned in a small tank at the Miami Seaquarium since being captured from the wild in 1970.

In addition to starring in the print ad, de Moura chatted with PETA and urged fellow parents not to take their children to marine-mammal parks such as the Seaquarium. “When you take your children to a park where an animal is being kept for years in confined quarters .… in this age, where we’re supposed to be so enlightened—equality for everybody—it’s a hypocrisy,” she says. “You’re sending a message to your children that it’s OK to dominate, it’s OK to confine.”

In response to a petition filed by PETA and others to get Lolita her independence, the National Marine Fisheries Service recently announced that it’s considering affording Lolita the same protection that her wild family has under the Endangered Species Act. She could  return to Puget Sound in a controlled release, where she will join her 82-year-old mom.

Waka Flocka Gets Naked For PETA

Waka Flocka is the latest celebrity to get naked for PETA. The rapper has been very popular with the ladies, but something tells me he might lose a few lady fans after they see this ad. On the plus side at least he’s standing up for something he believes in.

Chad Ochocinco poses for PETA

NFLer Chad Ochocinco is standing up for a good cause by posing nearly nude for PETA.  Ochoconco just so happens to be an animal lover, so what better way to show his support for  PETA’s efforts than for posing the  organization’s ‘Ink, Not Mink’ campaign.

Here’s what Ochocinco told PETA about animals and their skin: “To tell you the truth, when I was younger growing up, I thought it was all fake―they didn’t really kill animals.”
