George Lucas Marries Mellody Hobson



Famed producer George Lucas is a married man!

The  Star Wars icon married longtime girlfriend Mellody Hobson on Saturday night, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

Director Ron Howard was in attendance and he couldn’t wait to tweet the news.

“George Lucas Melody Hobson wedding was joy to behold,” he wrote. “Bill Moyers service was beautiful, nothing short of profound. Congrats Mr&Mrs Lucas.”

Samuel L. Jackson, who played Jedi Mace Windu in Star Wars prequels,, also tweeted his best wishes.

‘Let’s give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his bride Melodie on this, their wedding day,’ he wrote.

Lucas, 69, and Hobson, 44, got engaged back in January,  after dating since 2006.  The super-producer was previously married to film editor Marcia Lucas from 1969 until their divorce in 1983.

Ebony magazine has been in circulation for  65-years. The magazine has had some of the most prominent figures in politics, music and the media grace its covers over the years.  To commemorate the occasion, the magazine decided to revisit some of its most memorable covers with today’s hottest stars. Usher, Jurnee Smolliet,  Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji Henson, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Yolanda Adams, and Regina King are just some of the people who took part in this special collector’s edition.  See if you can guess which figures each celebrity is portraying.
